Team communication processing and analysis in human-factors simulated environment

Description

The Translational Research for Injury Prevention (TRIP) Laboratory, under the leadership of Dr. Despina Stavrinos, has expanded its research to incorporate more human factors in simulated research studies. Communication is a vital human factor for team operations in various paradigms.

In simulated studies, this is typically achieved using wired/wireless headsets and microphones that enable communication between the research operator and group participants for instructions and task performance. This project aims to build a generalized tool for processing, analyzing, and potentially improving audio data for teaming operations in a simulated environment. This analysis can inform on group communication, coordination, distraction, and other important parameters for team performance.
